Milano, Antica Ditta Pietro e Giuseppe Vallardi., 1863, in-folio, 47 x 33 cm, engraved frontispiece + 33 pp + (3)nn pp + 60 engraved plates printed on one side only, (of which 31 are double-page plates). Bound in publisher's cloth with gilt title and decoration on front cover. Binding with traces of use and a bit discoloured, interior fine notwithstanding some slight foxing at some pages (always marginal). In all still a fine/good copy. Rare study on the gothic cathedral of Milan illustrated with the fine engravings by Vallardi. Many of his drawings are preserved in the Ambrosiana library. Vallardi not only made description drawings of the cathedral but he was also involved in proposing new designs for the façade.
