Fine complete copy of a military report on the sieges of towns and fortifications in the Southern Low Countries by the armies of France during the war of the Austrian Succession (1740 - 1748). The besieged fortifications are Menen , Ieper ( Ypres ) , Knokke , Veurne , Tournai , Oudenaarde , Dendermonde , Oostende , Nieuwpoort , Ath , Brussel , Antwerpen, Mons, Saint-Guislain , Charleroi , Namur , Sluis , Sas van Gent , Philipine , Hulst , Axel , Bergen op Zoom , Lillo and Maastricht. For each of these cities there is a detailed map of the fortifications and yellow coloured indications how the besiegers proceeded to attack. Text in French..

Strassbourg, Melchior Pauschinger, 1750. 4to. Cont. boards, large and uncut copy. Boards with some scratches on back and covers. Having a double-page engraved title (Paris chez Ch. Ant. Jombert, 1751). Double-page engraved table listing each of the besieged towns. It is divided in 24 parts each having a large double-page engraved plate of the battleplan of the town, superbly engraved with cartouches etc. (Plan 22: Siege de Lillo and Plan O of Flandern lacks - both supplied in xerox-copy). The maps having some hand-colouring.
