"14. Bruxelles, presses Alexandre Berqueman, 1889, in-8°, 316 pp, bound in full red morocco with slipcase in red cloth, gold decorated spine, front and back, gilt edges. Extensive gilt lettering on front cover, spine slightly scratched and discolored, still a fine binding. Bound in before the title is a 2-p. long dedication letter to ""Conseil fédéral suisse"" in the hand of A. Allard, Directeur de la Monnaie [de Bruxelles], and also signed by Emile de Lavelaye [professeur à Liège, membre correspondant de l'Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques de France]. In this letter to the Swiss authorities the author expresses the hope that his economic analysis will show the way to go to avoid a confrontation between capitalists and workers. He explicitly refers to 1830 and 1848. Ex-library stamp on title page."
