Bound in contemporary goldtooled vellum, with traces of green silk ties, smooth spine, binding with some wear, a few dark brown stains on front cover, the outer margin of the engraved title frayed, but on the whole still in good condition. Francesco Sacchini ( Paciano - Perugia 1570 - Roma 1625) compiled a chronological study on the history of the Jesuit Order in five parts (Pars Prima - Pars Quinta). The Pars Prima was first published in Rome in 1614, and is here republished, the Pars Secunda here in first edition. These two parts describe the history of theJesuit order from the beginning till the year 1564."

Engraved title page with loss of paper (left upper corner approx. 6 cm², lower margin with a few small holes ( not text loss). Bound in contemporary calf, double gilt fillets on both covers, raised spine. Binding worn but technically sound. Back clumsily repaired with leather patches, joints broken. Ex-library with small 19th c. rubberstamp of a castle library. Not withstanding these defects still an acceptable copy, and complete. .
