The Pars Prima was first published in Rome in 1614, the Pars Secunda in Antwerp in 1620. We offer here the '' Pars Tertio '' in first edition, published in 1649, with a preface dated 1622. This third part 1565 -1572 covers exactly the period during which Borgia ( Borja) was the Society's third general. Borgia , great-grandson of Pope Alexander VI , is considered the second founder of the Jesuit Order. He was a close friend and adviser to Ignatius of Loyola.
