Vol. I ; xxxii pp + 509 pp + (1)(bl) ; Vol. II ; xii + 542 pp ; Atlas ; engraved title + 39 engraved plates (of which 8 hand coloured) , + 57 engraved plates (in all 96 plates, mostly folding or double page. Bound in contemporary blue marbled boards (probably publisher's binding) with gilt title on spine, very fine copy with only slight marginal foxing on the last 5 leaves of volume I. (See Ogden, Bibliography of Turning item 27). Second edition of this standard publication on the subject and much more complete than the first which dates from 1792. The work is also beautifully illustrated. The first 8 plates in the Atlas depict 72 different kind of wood and are handcoloured (French 18th-century design and architecture ; turning ; lathes ; woodworking )."‎
