The plates depict in all 159 bindings of the French Romantic period bound by great names such as Simier, Bozérian , Thouvenin , Boutigny, Lenègre...According the introduction by Maggs Ltd. this collection of bindings was only surpassed by the Descamps-Scrive and Beraldi libraries. The 6 coloured plates depicting bindings, printed in relief , have their decomposed colour and relief plates sewn in at the end.‎
