Bound in three uniform modern red cloth bindings, with leather title label on spines, some slight foxing at some pages but a nice set. This is a rare end of 19th century French history of western architecture. Volume I deals with classical, mediaeval and early renaissance , volume II with French renaissance, XVII and Roccoco architecture. Volume III deals with Classical (18th) and 19th-century architecture. Especially this third volume is very interesting for its wealth of information on 19th-century (French) architecture. The work contains a bibliography and also an extensive index of architect's names, over 1500 architects are mentioned, nearly all born after 1750. Text in French.‎
