They were influenced by Pugin in their ideas on neo gothic architecture and restoration. Their founders would become the creators of the neo gothic style on the continent, which developed into the ''official'' style of the Roman Catholic church during the second half of the 19th century partly under the influence of Baron Béthune, who became president in 1873. He was also the driving force behind the ''Écoles de Saint-Luc'' which cared for the education of architects , artists and craftsmen. Especially the first issues are quite rare as there were only about 100 members of the guild during this period. In 1882 this changed when the guild started to cooperate with the ''Revue de l'art Chrétien''. (Most of the later volume are available as separate volumes, please ask by e-mail).."
