Paris, Imprimerie Félix Malteste, 1857, in-folio, 42 x 27 cm, title + (84) nn pp + 25 plates of which 20 in chromolithograpy, contemporary red half morocco, gilt decorations on front cover, orig. wrapper (preserved) and title printed with gilt lettering. The author, an architect and an artist, examines the decorative details of the Chapel in a series of fine chromolithographic plates printed by Lemercier. There are also exterior and interior engraved views and plans. This is most probably the first edition. Another edition by Morel editor appeared in 1865, see Weinreb cat.New Series 5 - item 150.

Morel, 1865, in-folio, 44 x 32 cm, title + 48 pp + 25 plates of which 20 in chromolithograpy, contemporary red half morocco, ex-library but a nice copy with inly a small stamp on the verso of the title. The author (an architect) and an artist (lithographer), examine the decorative details of the Chapel in a series of fine chromolithographic plates printed by Lemercier. There are also exterior and interior engraved views and plans. This is the second edition. The first was published by F. Malteste in 1857. (See Weinreb cat .New Series 5 - item 150.).
