Bound in modern black half morocco, smooth gilt back, marbled endpapers. (A few pages with some stains and marginal paper repairs, but generally in fine condition with no foxing at all). The architect Boussard gives in 200 large plates an overview of funerary architecture in France and especially in Paris (Cimetière de Montparnasse, Père La Chaise) during the years 1860-1870. The plates reproduce not only his own designs but also designs by e.g. L. Renaud, M. Danjoy, Ch. Duprez, M. Normand, M. Baltard, Isabelle (Le monument de David D'Angers au Père La Chaise). The last 15 plates represent funerary ornaments. This rare album was issued in 20 installments of 10 plates.
