Paris, chez Didot l'aîné, 1773, in-4°, 25 x 19 cm, xx + 348 pp + 24 folding engraved plates, contemporary mottled calf, raised and gilt back, edges painted red, some wear at extremities but a fine copy. The French chemist Monnet published this important work on mining after an extensive visit to the German mining district. He acknowledges freely that all the information contained in this book is derived from German sources. He quotes e.g. a book publ. by the ''Colleges de Mines à Freyberg'', a study on subterranean geometry by Oppel, general director of the Freyberg Mines... Sotheran, second supplement, volume II item 14171.‎
