Jan Gevelius. An Atlas of the Starry Sky./Yan Geveliy. Atlas zvezdnogo neba. The book contains brief information about the Samarkand observatory of the fifteenth century and its leader, the famous Uzbek astronomer Ulugbek. It describes the history of the archaeological study of this observatory and provides data on the distribution of the main work of Samarkand scientists, Zij Ulugbek, in the world press. The Atlas of the Starry Sky, compiled in the seventeenth century by the outstanding Polish astronomer Jan Gevelij, one of the first European scientists to publish the Ulugbek Star Catalogue in his treatise, as well as the rarest images of Ulugbek from this tread and the manuscripts of the fifteenth-eighteenth centuries.
