Short description: In Russian (ask us if in doubt).He graduated from the PIGI in 1898 with the title of civil engineer and a silver medal for his diploma project. He worked for academician Nikolai Dmitriev who at the time held the post of chief architect of Gatchina. After working as a civil engineer for a year Semyonov went to Transvaal as part of a group of Russian volunteers to fight alongside the Boers in the Anglo-Burma War. After being wounded in the war he returned to Russia and went to the North Caucasus where he took a job in Pyatigorsk in the Caucasus Mineral Waters Department.
