Planche 8 de la série "12 têtes de personnages". 19.5cm x 13cm sur un papier de 29cm x 22cm. Gravure propre et soignée sur papier légèrement assombri, posée sur un support épais. Quelques marques seulement. Détails d'impression à la base de la gravure. Le papier de soutien a un peu de plis et de noircissement sur les bords. Identifiée, nommée et datée à partir d'exemplaires identiques conservés au Philadelphia Museum of Art. Johann Christian Leopold (1699-1755) Éditeur de gravures basé à Augsbourg ; fils de Joseph Friedrich Leopold (q.v.) ; a publié des mezzotintes d'après Piazzetta ; jusqu'en 1760 au plus tôt. Son fils Johann Christian Leopold le Jeune (1729-1779) poursuivit son activité sous le même nom. Ferdinand Landerer (1730 Stein unter der Enns - 1795 Vienne) Graveur. Martin Johann Schmidt (Grafenworth, 1718 - Stein an der Donau 1801) Peintre baroque autrichien. Il s'agit d'une gravure ancienne originale de 1760, et non d'une reproduction.‎

‎A lovely copy of this original, first edition engraving by LANDERER after SCHMIDT. Plate 8 from the series "12 character heads". 19.5cm x 13cm on backing paper of 29cm x 22cm. Clean and tidy engraving on slightly darkened paper. laid onto heavy laid backing paper. A little marking only. Printing details to base of engraving. The backing paper has a touch of creasing and darkening to the edges. Identified, named and dated from identical copies in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Johann Christian Leopold (1699-1755) Print publisher based in Augsburg; son of Joseph Friedrich Leopold (q.v.); published mezzotints after Piazzetta; until 1760 at the earliest. His son Johann Christian Leopold the Younger (1729-1779), continued his business under the same name. Ferdinand Landerer (1730 Stein unter der Enns - 1795 Vienna) Engraver.
