After the acquisition of the "Codex Leicester" by Bill Gates in 1994, it was first shown in an exhibition held at the American Museum of Natural History, New York. Named after Thomas Coke - once Earl of Leicester who purchased it in 1717 - this became the most expensive manuscript ever sold. 178 pages - including numerous facsimiles. Still in the publisher's shrinkwrap so has never been opened. 280 x 250 mm (11 x 9Ÿ inches). .
