Couvertures lithographiées en couleurs et de nombreuses petites et vives illustrations en noir à chaque page par Nikolaï Tyrsa (1887-1942). Formé à l’Académie des Arts de Saint-Pétersbourg, puis chez Léon Bakst, il participa aux expositions du “Monde de l’Art” (Mir Iskousstva). Après la Révolution, il deviendra l’un des artistes majeurs de Leningrad, maître de la lithographie. Principalement reconnu en tant qu’artiste animalier, c’est le détachement des pionniers dans toutes leurs activités qu’il figure ici. Vers du grand poète Samuel Marchak (1887-1964) directeur des éditions d’état. Deuxième édition de la même année que l’originale. En parfaite condition.
