‎Als een frisse wind arriveerde het impressionisme in de jaren 1860 in Frankrijk. Dit leidde tot een fundamentele stijlverandering in Noord-Europa en daarbuiten. In deze uitgave en in de reizende tentoonstelling, wordt een topselectie getoond van het Duitse, Deense en Nederlandse impressionisme. Het maakt de overeenkomsten en verschillen tussen deze landstreken duidelijk zichtbaar. Aan de hand van zes thema's komen de belangrijkste onderwerpen van het impressionisme aan bod: licht, op het land, aan zee, in de stad, de tuin en de winter. Er wordt werk getoond van onder anderen: Fritz Mackensen, Max Liebermann, Lovis Corinth en Max Slevogt (uit Duitsland), Anna en Michael Ancher, Peder Severin Kr yer en Viggo Johansen (uit Denemarken) en de Nederlanders Johan Barthold Jongkind, Anton Mauve, George Hendrik Breitner, Isaac Israels, Jan Toorop en vele anderen. Frisse Wind komt tot stand in samenwerking met het Museum Kunst der Westk ste (Alkersum/F hr) en het Nieders chsisches Landesmuseum in Hannover en is in Nederland te zien in Singer Laren. ******************************************* Like a breath of fresh air, Impressionism arrived in France in the 1860s. This led to a fundamental change in style in Northern Europe and beyond. In this edition and in the traveling exhibition, a top selection of German, Danish and Dutch Impressionism is shown. It makes the similarities and differences between these regions clearly visible. The most important subjects of Impressionism are discussed through six themes: light, on land, at the sea, in the city, the garden and winter. Work will be shown by, among others: Fritz Mackensen, Max Liebermann, Lovis Corinth and Max Slevogt (from Germany), Anna and Michael Ancher, Peder Severin Kr yer and Viggo Johansen (from Denmark) and the Dutch Johan Barthold Jongkind, Anton Mauve, George Hendrik Breitner, Isaac Israels, Jan Toorop and many others.
