Just (Jost) Juel (1664–1715) was a Danish naval officer who began his career studying for a civil service role but turned to the navy after initial plans fell through. He served in the Dutch fleet before joining the Danish Navy where he rose to vice admiral. Juel played a key role in defending Copenhagen in 1700 and served as envoy to Tsar Peter the Great from 1709 to 1712. He was killed in a naval battle at Jasmund in 1715 and is buried in Roskilde Cathedral.
