One opportunity to benefit from photography’s potential to interest the masses was the publication of the photobook De Ramp after the flooding disaster of February 1953. De Bezige Bij decided to make a group publication and photographers such as Ed van der Elsken were asked to provide photographs. The editorial board consisted of Han de Vries, Hans Redeker and Piet Klaassen. The Dutch booksellers’ association who published the book, printed an edition of 675 000.” (PBC page 52)(104011)
