1923 London, Benn Brother, 1923. Hardcover: 23.5 x 29 cm, xvi- 240 p. + 59 plates. With 128 illustrations of which 11 in colour. One of 1500 copies printed on rag paper and bound in art canvas (no. 550). Gilt bird on cover, gilt title on spine. Spine ends and cover edges lightly worn, front inner hinge fragile but still intact, contents fine, with text and plates very clean and without any spotting/foxing.
Hobson was keeper of the department of ceramics and ethnography, British Museum.
