(come da Indice), che raffigurano Chris, il beneamato cucciolo di cocker spaniel di cui l'Autore descrive le piacevoli avventure vissute insieme.Questo libro, dapprima facente parte de The Inn of Tranquillity fu pubblicato nel 1912 e quindi in edizione a parte e illustrata nel 1914 da Maud Alice Earl (1864-1943), eminente artista anglo-americana specializzata nei dipinti di razze canine. John Galsworthy (1867-1933), romanziere e drammaturgo inglese; ottenne la fama nel 1907 quando fu pubblicato il romanzo The man of property', primo del ciclo della celebre The Forsyte Saga'..
