"Seconda edizione" di questo poema in versi, di Margaret Dixon, che così precisa nella Prefazione: the historical facts which form the main narrative of the following poem, first published in 1882, were selected from The life and voyages of Christopher Columbus' by Washington Irving, with some assistance from Prescott's History of Ferdinand and Isabella'.Mentre la prima edizione non ebbe nessuna particolare segnalazione, questa seconda, edita da Putnam a New York, suscitò almeno una notevole recensione su The Critic (May 6th, 1893): il poema rivisto dall'A. was reacalling in different parts both Tennyson and Wordsworth, but without any appearance of direct imitation.Esemplare molto ben conservato. .‎
