Ami de Delacroix et de Corot, Constant Dutilleux est surtout connu pour ses paysages sylvestres. Né à Douai, il décide de se rendre à Paris. Il y fréquente l’atelier Hersent et l’Académie Suisse. Il s’installe à Arras en 1830, où il est nommé professeur de dessin et s’établit imprimeur-lithographe. Il séjourne souvent à Barbizon, fasciné par cette forêt qui lui procure une “extase perpétuelle”. A partir de 1845, sa palette s’éclaircit. La rigueur héritée de Rembrandt fait place à l’harmonie, à la fraîcheur et à la lumière. Son langage entretient la vision argentée d’une nature rêveuse. Très bon état d’occasion

Biographie de l'artiste, catalogue, bibliographie, sources, généalogies de la famille Ditulleux. Peintre, dessinateur et graveur françai, Dutilleux, "se rend en 1826 à Paris pour gagner sa vie et entre dans l’atelier du peintre Louis Hersent tout en fréquentant l’Académie Suisse. En 1830, il s’établit à Arras où il acquiert une certaine réputation qui lui permet d’ouvrir son propre atelier et il épouse deux ans plus tard Virgine-Julie Hallez. Parallèlement, et sans doute par nécessité commerciale, il ouvre également une imprimerie lithographique. Ce n’est qu’à partir de 1850, grâce à une certaine aisance acquise, qu’il peut enfin se consacrer à la peinture -avant tout de paysage-, travaillant notamment en forêt de Fontainebleau mais aussi en Belgique et en Hollande. Il entretiendra, également à partir de 1847, une grande amitié avec Corot de dix ans son aîné."(in Indexnuminum).
