‎Dimension extérieur 63 x 50 cm et cuvette 52 x 40 cm. Eau-forte représentant Colbert, célèbre ministre du roi Louis XIV, d’après Claude le Febvre. Ce fameux portrait de Colbert est une des deux pièces de réception à l'Académie que présenta Audran en 1709. Ici, il s’agit d’une copie réalisée sur plaque original, sûrement au XIX ème siècle. Elle est en excellent état hormis une tâche sur la gauche de l’image ainsi qu’un papier légèrement bruni autour du blason avec le serpent.‎

À partir de 1665, il est l'un des principaux ministre de Louis XIV, en tant que contrôleur général des finances (1665-1683), secrétaire d'Etat de la maison du roi et secrétaire d'Etat de la Marine.
