"10. Paris, Roret Libraire, Tétot Frères, Dijon , chez l'auteur, Dole, chez Prudont, 1834, in-8°, x pp + 57 pp + 113 full page engraved plates + 1 large folding plate ( complete). Bound in publisher's printed boards. Spine repaired, boards rather soiled and dusty, a few text leaves with marginal worms galleries (not affecting the text and carefully restored). The folding plate with a tear repaired. Notwithstanding these defects still a good and interesting copy with the 113 plates in fine condition ; strong imprints on good quality paper. Rare extensively illustrated treatise on architectural ironworks. The title would indicate a work on doorlocks etc. ; but most of the examples are of gates, lattice work, trellis, fencing etc. ( in the ''Premier Empire style''). This publication can in a way be considered as a forerunner to the famous '' Manuels Roret'' which were to have a tremendous succes during the 19th century. The plates were either engraved by Louis Berthaux or by Nicolas Roret himself. In 1820 he acquired his licence as ''libraire - taille-doucier'' ( bookdealer - engraver). Unknown to the Berlin Ornamentstichkatalog - they cite only a work by Berthaux on coach-making."
Paris, Léonce Laget., 1979, Reprint. Très bon état. Couverture toilée rouge. 63p;, 122 planches dont 3 dépliantes.
Paris, Dijon, Maison, Roret, chez l'Auteur, 1843. In-8 - 14,5 x 23 cm. Ouvrage orné d'un frontispice et de 123 planches ( 120 numérotées + 3 non numérotées), complet.
