Plon 12 x 18 Paris 1906 Volume in-12, reliure demi-basane de l'époque, dos lisse, titre et couronne dorée, XVI + 406 pp., appendice, portrait-frontispice. Troisième édition, la première parue chez Plon en 1905. Ouvrage de référence sur la cavalerie. Saint-Cyrien, officier de cavalerie, disciple de D'Aure et de Baucher, nommé par Napoléon III écuyer en chef à Saumur, L'Hotte (1825-1904) devint général de Brigade en 1874. Il termina sa carrière comme inspecteur de cavalerie, général de corps d'armée et président du conseil de cavalerie. Dans un "Officier de cavalerie", il livre les portraits des grands écuyers de son époque. Reliure usagée et frottée, mors en tête fendu, papier un peu jauni. Petite étiquette d'ex-libris et un portrait du général L'Hotte ajoutée sur la page de garde.(C81) Livre
