Belle et importante carte de Bordeaux, Bayonne et du pays viticole de Bordeaux et du Médoc accréditée à Hondius et au graveur Evert Symonsz Hambers Veldt, ce qui la distingue de celles de Blaeu. Tirée d'un des nombreux atlas édités à partir de 1631 par Johanes Janssonius, concurrent direct de Blaeu. Carte en langue française, description au verso en latin. L'imposant cartouche occupant la majeure partie de la moitié inférieure de la carte est ornée de feuilles de vigne, soulignant à juste titre l'importance mondiale de la région pour les vins et le brandy. La rose des vents, les galions et le monstre marin ajoutent à la nature décorative. Pièce restaurée et rehaussée de couleurs // Beautiful and important map of Bordeaux, Bayonne and the wine country of Bordeaux and the Médoc accredited to Hondius and the engraver Evert Symonsz Hambers Veldt, which distinguishes it from those of Blaeu. From one of the many atlases published from 1631 by Johanes Janssonius, a direct competitor of Blaeu. Map in French, description on the back in Latin. The imposing cartouche occupying most of the lower half of the map is adorned with grape leaves, rightly underlining the region's global importance for wine and brandy. Compass rose, galleons and sea monster add to decorative nature. Excellent original colour.
