Remarquable étude, de la part d'un Augeron qui parle savamment d'un sujet qu'il connait parfaitement. La qualité des illustrations et des dessins au trait, l'ampleur des index, l'originalité des itinéraires proposés font de cet ouvrage d'art et d'histoire la meilleure des initiations à ce que fut l'architecture civile en un point exceptionnel du paysage normand.
